Let's Make This Small Business Saturday Best Ever - Retail NI

With this year’s Small Business Saturday taking place tomorrow Saturday (2nd December), Retail NI has urged consumers to pull out all the stops to support their local independent retailers and make this year the best yet.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, James Brokenshire MP, gave his support for Small Business Saturday when he visited traders on Belmont Road.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, James Brokenshire MP said:

'I was delighted to have been able to meet local businesses and traders on the Belmont Road, Belfast to highlight the 5th Anniversary of @SmallBuzSatUK.  These businesses are the life-blood of local communities throughout Northern Ireland and the wider UK, who have provided vital support and services to local people over many years.  I would encourage everyone to support their local small businesses not just today, but all year round.'

Retail NI Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said:

“Independent retailers and small business owners are working harder then ever to provide top level choice, quality and service this Christmas and we urge shoppers to make a special effort to support them on Small Business Saturday and throughout the Christmas period”

“70p in every pound that is spend with a local independent retailer is recycled around the economy, supporting local producers, farmers and the high street as a whole”

“Small Business Saturday is all about celebrating the jobs, investment and services our local business provide for us all and is also a beacon to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs, which is so vital to the future of our local economy”
